Last summer my husband Nick and I moved into our “forever house…a.k.a “Honey we are living in this house forever because I am never moving again!” All kidding aside, we bought our house because we loved its short and long term potential. It’s within walking distance to Jackson’s elementary school, it has a nice open floorplan, a huge kitchen, awesome his and her walk-in closets and a large two acre lot perfect for all the gardening we could ever want to do. The only drawback is it’s 1970’s roots. The former owner updated a lot of things, but not quite to our taste. We are the DIY-weekend-project type so we love the possibilites and reward of giving our place a little love room by room. We have done a few mini-makeovers, like painting the fireplace and putting nice flooring in my small room of a closet, but the master bedroom is the first room that has gotten a major overhaul. I am SOOOO happy with the results. Every time I walk in the room, it makes me smile. It is so light and bright and relaxing- everything a master bedroom should be. Check out the before and after and see for yourself.
