I first met Kelly and Blake over a cup of coffee back in November. We had a great time chatting about their big day and planning their “out of the box” Christmas Engagement Session, featuring the Tinsle Trail in downtown Huntsville and thier adorable dog Skyler. The engagement session turned out amazing and we even got Skylar to smile for the camera! Fast foward to the wedding day and I was beyond excited to spend the day at Burritt on the Mountain photographing these two high school sweethearts.
Kelly and Blake’s wedding day was a beautiful mixture of classic details and a touch of the unexpected. Kelly’s dress from Modern Brides was accessorized by one of the most glamorous pairs of Badgley Mischka shoes I have ever seen. I could have spend an hour just posing her shoes! Her bouquet of coral and blush by Bruce Roy of Belle Fleur perfectly accented the blush and coral bridesmaid dresses. Metropolitan DJ provided the tunes that kept them dancing all night. One of my favorite aspects of the day was the ceremony that was officiated by Blake’s cousin. Rather than having them recite the tradional wedding vows, he told the story of Blake and Kelly’s courtship that began in high school and ended with happily ever after. There was even a part of the ceremony that paid homage to their fur baby Skylar.
Congrats Kelly and Blake! I wish you have a lifetime of happiness and I am honored to have been a small part of your day.
