My husband and I were college sweethearts, so I think I will always have a soft spot for those who met the same way. The first time I met Kirklynn and Nathan, I couldn’t help but feel a connection to them. Just a few short years ago (ok more like 10) Mr. Hensley and I were in their shoes – a little nerdy, a little outdoorsy, and just starting our growup lives together.
Kirklynn and Nathan met at church while in college at the University of North Alabama. Before long, their love was blossoming under the ancient oaks of the campus. On a beautiful day in May, they came full circle – saying their vows in front of their families at the church where they met and finishing the day with a photo session on the very college campus that brought them together.
Their wedding day was a wonderful blend of simplicity, family, and hearfelt moments. Kirklynn started the day with her mom, sister, and grandmother helping her get ready. Nathan’s dad did double-duty as father of the groom and best man. Both Nathan and Kirklynn’s dads gave beautiful toasts to the new couple, with Kirklynn’s dad adding in a surprise song that had everyone choking back tears.
I was so excited to share in their amazing wedding day and I wish them all the best in their new lives together!
